Creating opportunities for learners to Explore, begins by centering them in the curriculum. Across content areas, when students are presented with challenges that promote discovery and are guided in the inquiry process, they learn to develop a profile of their academic interests.
ENGAGE
Students actively Engage the learning process in LITD classrooms. Learning does not occur passively and students have expectations around discussion, collaboration, and creativity related to tasks.
ENRICH
Enriching the curriculum is a strategic process that is ongoing for the educator and the learner. Servicing students in this domain dictates a critical examination of learning activities that is reflective of opportunities to enhance both the academic experience and fund of knowledge for students.
EMPOWER
Students are Empowered when they Engage and Explore curriculum via methods that are Enriching. Our teachers are guided by a provocative nature and understand the importance of listening to students, encouraging passion, and promoting a commitment to excellence. These concepts Empower students to Engage their environment and view themselves as change agents in communicating a shared vision for a better tomorrow.
